Funding Amount
The Great British Energy (GBE) Supply Chain Fund: Offshore Wind and Networks is a capital grant programme designed to build UK manufacturing capacity for key constrained components in the offshore wind and enabling electricity networks sectors.
The fund will award up to £300 million in capital grant funding. There is no minimum or maximum restriction on the size of the investment. The amount of grant requested must represent the minimum necessary for the project to proceed.
There is no maximum restriction on the size of the grant sought or awarded.

Funding is in the form of capital grant funding
Grant funding must be drawn down between April 2026 and March 2030
Grant payments will be made in arrears, after claims for defrayed expenditure against agreed eligible costs and deliverables have been submitted and verified by GBE
Eligible Applicants
Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:
The applicant must be a company registered under the Companies Act 2006 at the point of submitting a full application.
Projects from all areas of the UK are eligible for funding, subject to Windsor Framework considerations.
Eligible Activities
The grant is designed to support projects that build UK manufacturing capacity for key constrained components in the offshore wind and enabling electricity networks sectors.
Funding must be used to:
Construct new manufacturing facilities in the UK, or
Extend existing manufacturing facilities in the UK
The completed project must manufacture one or more of the critical components on the following eligibility list:
HVAC cables (including dynamic)
Power transformers (AC and DC)
Reactive power management and control systems
Eligible costs must be capital expenditure directly related to the project, with a limited scope including:
Production equipment and machinery
Associated infrastructure that facilitates delivery and is linked to the specific product being manufactured
Research and development costs associated with the manufacturing facility, provided that the grant is also for construction of the relevant facilities
